Disclosure of Complaints and Disciplinary Actions

As part of the investigation file, information received from a complainant is kept confidential. A complainant may be contacted by the compliance officer, attorney general, board members or Board-authorized third party and asked to provide additional evidence pertaining to the complaint. Information concerning a complaint will not be disclosed by the Board during the course of the investigation.

If an investigation finds there has not been a violation of the law, information regarding the complaint will remain confidential. The Board, however, will keep a record of such complaints. Information regarding the investigations resulting in disciplinary action is available to the public upon written request and will include the following:

  • The total number of complaints against a specific individual
  • The date the complaint was received
  • The disposition of the complaint and the date on which it was reached
