Proposed Revisions to the Professional Landscape Architect Act

The Nebraska State Board of Landscape Architects is considering revisions to the Professional Landscape Architects Act (Act) to adopt the CLARB Uniform Licensure for Landscape Architects passed by the member boards in 2022. Along with those revisions, several housekeeping revisions are also being considered. The Board will be finalizing the proposed revisions at its April 23, 2024, meeting to prepare them for introduction during the 2025 Legislative session and is seeking your comments. The revisions being considered include:

  • 81-8,184 – Adding a definition for Direct Supervision
  • 81-8,192 – Removing the requirement for a yearly roster to be filed with the Secretary of State and sent to licensees
  • 81-8,196 – Revising section to align the Act with the CLARB Uniform Licensure Standard for Landscape Architects
  • 81-8,199(3) – Updating a term missed in previous revisions and the effective date for individuals already licensed under the Act
  • 81-8,200 – Removing language related to the initial biennial license renewal periods
  • 81-8, 208(2)(f) – Removing cancellation as the Board does not cancel licenses
