Board Seat Vacancies

The Nebraska State Board of Landscape Architects will have two board seat vacancies as of September of this year. One seat is open to all professional landscape architects licensed and residing in Nebraska. The other is the public member seat which is open to anyone who is not a professional landscape architect, at least 19 years old, and a resident of the State.   • The Board consists of six members, 5 professional landscape architects and one public member which are appointed by the Governor to five year terms. Members must have been a resident of the state for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.
  • The Board currently meets once a quarter in January, April, July, and October with additional meetings scheduled as needed. The meetings are typically held in Lincoln at the Board’s office.
  • The Board is currently in the process of revising the Professional Landscape Architects Act (LB30-currently on General File awaiting debate on the floor during the 2020 legislative session). Upon passage of the bill, the Board will begin the process of revising the Rules and Regulations.
  • The Board belongs to The Council of Landscape Architects of Registration Boards (CLARB) which is the national organization of licensing boards. CLARB is responsible for developing and administering the LARE exam, as well as assisting the boards in promoting licensure. An annual meeting is held, usually in September, to which the Board typically sends at least one member and the administrative assistant.
