The Nebraska State Board of Landscape Architects will have a board seat vacancy as of October 31, 2023, due to a resignation. The seat is open to all professional landscape architects licensed and residing in Nebraska, is a US Citizen, and has actively practiced for at least five years. The appointee will serve out the resignee's term, which expires on September 23, 2025. Interested persons should complete an Application for Executive Appointment at https://governor.nebraska.gov/board-comm-req.
Here is some basic information on the Board:
- The Board comprises of six members, 5 professional landscape architects and 1 public member who are appointed by the Governor for five-year terms. Members must be residents of the state for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.
- The Board currently meets once a quarter in January, April, July, and October, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. The meetings are typically held in Lincoln at the Board’s Office.
- The Board is a member of the Council of Landscape Architects Registration Boards (CLARB), the national organization of licensing boards. CLARB is responsible for developing and administering the LARE exam as well as assisting the member boards in promoting licensure. An annual meeting is held, usually in September, to which the Board typically sends at least one member and the administrative programs officer.
